What is a WorkShare Member?
A WorkShare Member pays for their share by working 4 hours to 8 hours a week
any time during the year. Our WorkShare program is for people who want to become involved with a certified organic, diversified
farm. Educated, thoughtful labor is important to the sustained future of our farm. A person accepted for a WorkShare Member
must be able to commit to being here as promised, and bring a needed skill set as well as develop farming skills within a
reasonable time frame.
Since we farm year round, WorkShare
Members can start any time of the year. WorkShare Members who are excited or interested in learning more about farming are
encouraged to start their WorkShare during the spring and summer so that they can learn about greenhouse work, direct seeding
and transplanting. WorkShare Members can also learn to work with our livestock.
WorkShare Members need to be dedicated to the health and well-being of the farm. WorkShare days must be scheduled.
Not showing up or being destructive or not contributing to the on-going sustainability of the farm, including missing three
scheduled work days without calling or e-mailing ahead of time will result in the WorkShare being given to someone else.
We will interview WorkShare Member candidates. We give the highest priority
to those who are willing to commit to a variety of tasks including weeding and harvest. We will have WorkShares on the weekend
as well as weekdays.
We are expanding our Farm Store, and we
will have several positions available during our Farm Store hours. These WorkShare jobs will include learning about the farm,
our products, and our processes so that the questions of CSA members and Farm Store customers can be accurately answered.
Farm Store WorkShares will be shared positions. It will be the responsibility of the opening WorkShare to set up the Farm
Store, and the responsibility of the closing WorkShare to clean up the Farm Store area and store the produce.
The Farm Store is now open on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and will
be expanded to Wednesday and later to Saturday, from 2 pm to 6:30 pm.
