for you through the next day. If you need to pick-up on a different day, please let us know 24 hours in advance. What does the cold spring mean for the shares? The season goes as does anyone's kitchen garden, at first there is less, then there is more.
Depending on how early the frost comes, the end of the season may be as abundant as mid-season. The first week will have mostly
leafy greens, then the harder vegetables will ripen. Here is our
expectations of your portion of the share of the weekly harvest. Mini Share — 1 person
Small
Share — enough for 1 to 3 people Large Share — enough for 3 to 6 people SPRING SEEMS TO BE THE NEW WINTER IN KITSAP Volcanic blasts may be the cause for our cold weather. While the news media focues on airline problems,
Iceland's Eyjafjallajoekull volcano tosses cold air on this summer's growing season all over the Northern Hemisphere.
Our crops are not dashed by this cold weather. They are growing slowly, however. The Abundantly Green Crew pampers and tends
your veggies every day of the week. At night, we really do put the veggie equivalent of little blankets over them. We walked the garden today, and found lots of good food that will be ready for our CSA members next
week. Closer to the day, we will post what to expect in your bag. A few of the early veggies now jumping up fast were at the
market. This past Saturday. We take to market what is not going to be fresh the next week. We featured the following items
on our cart: Early Spring Baby Salad Mix Baby Bok Choy leaves Red Oak Leaf Lettuce Radishes Basil

The sneak preview of the season is in our farmers

a small portion of the approximately seventy varieties we have planted and planned.

May 12, 2010 Hi everyone: thank you for stopping by.
Despite the cold, blustery weather in May, we have some beautiful
crops in the field and a greenhouse full of starts. Looking at everything, we
realized that we can handle more shares, so... We have CSA shares available. Order your share
now.
Recently, we transplanted head lettuce, sun chokes (aka Jerusalem artichokes), marjoram, and Greek oregano. Our new
strawberries, bush cherry trees, and new rhubarb are being planted in out new herb and fruit garden. An acre of new garden
area is being prepared this week, also. No
Cart — No Market There is no Poulsbo
Farmers Market this Saturday, May 15, because it is Whaling Days in Poulsbo. While I don’t understand fully why the
market must stop, we are taking this time to let everything grow bigger. Please explore our new website. This past week posed a challenge with it, but after much frustration, phone
calls, and trouble tickets, it works. I have not gotten all the information from the old site on here. We still sell beef.
We will not be butchering until the end of summer.
